Results begin to emerge from the North

The first result from the North’s Westminster elections has seen the UUP’s Reverend Martyn Smyth return to the parliament.

The first result from the North’s Westminster elections has seen the UUP’s Reverend Martyn Smyth return to the parliament.

Reverend Smyth has held the seat for the pro-Good Friday Agreement Unionist party for some time and managed to increase his majority for the Belfast South constituency.

The second result in saw the DUP party’s member, Nigel Dodds, elected for the North Belfast constituency.

Mr Dodds also managed to increase his majority.
