Harris announced as Rihanna UK support act

Calvin Harris is to join Rihanna on her UK tour.

The 27-year-old DJ has been confirmed as the main support act for the 'S&M' singer's 28 'Loud' concerts, which take place in Manchester, Glasgow, Liverpool and London between October and December, and the 'Umbrella' singer has hailed the Scotsman's "unique" contribution to her show.

She said: "Calvin is the perfect fit for the 'Loud' tour. He is going to bring something unique and fun for the fans."

Harris, who supported Rihanna in Australia earlier this year, had planned to join another world-famous pop star on tour earlier this year, but pulled out at the last minute.

He pulled the plug on his proposed appearances with Katy Perry, claiming her team suddenly "moved the goalposts" and told him he would have had to appear without production.

After the 'Firework' star criticised him on twitter for cancelling his appearance, Harris hit back.

He tweeted: "Trust me you would have been more disappointed seeing the show than u are with me cancelling.

"Her show is awesome, you'll all have an amazing time without me. (especially w/o me DJing on a cardboard box in front of a pink curtain)."
