Cork are senior All-Ireland Camogie champions for the second year in a row after a 1-16 to 0-16 win over Galway in Croke Park.
In a tight first half, it was Galway who went into the interval with a 0-10 to 0-9 lead. Galway's Carrie Noaln scored five points for the Tribeswoman.
All the Cork forward line scored in the first half but Galway would have been delighted with how they had shut out the goal chances after the Rebels had threatened in the early exchanges and by the final whistle, four of the sextet were watching from the sideline.
Cork responded quickly in the second half with the next five scores, and scored the opening goal of the game through Katrina Mackey.
While the Rebels had the momentum to take a 1-13 to 0-11 lead, Galway never gave up, and were level 1-13 to 0-16 after 50 minutes.
Cork showed their quality in vital stages of the game, with Sorcha McCartan putting them back ahead with just under seven minutes remaining.
Further points from McCartan and Clodagh Finn stretched Cork's lead, as Galway could not find the goal they needed for victory.
It was a hugely successful day for Cork camogie, with the Intermediate team defeating Kilkenny 1-11 to 1-10.
,Claire Doheny pounced on a breaking ball, capitalising on tigerish work from full-forward Caroline Kennedy and fired over what looked like a crucial point to nudge Kilkenny 1-10 to 1-8 in front.
However the closing stages of the contest were dominated by Donie Daly’s Cork side, at both ends of the field.
In the Junior final, Tipperary defeated Laois 0-12 to 1-08.
