Slaughtneil were forced to extra-time after a last minute goal from Ruairí Óg Cushendall in a thrilling 3-21 to 1-27 draw after 60 minutes.
Neil McManus rescued the game for Cushendall in the last seconds of normal time with their third goal of the game from 40 yards out.
It was McManus third goal of the game in a great advertisement for hurling as he scored 3-9 in normal time.
Slaughtneil went into the interval with a 1-16 to 1-12 lead, with their goal coming from Eamon Cassidy, and five poionts from Jack Cassidy.
