The Ireland men's Sevens team have been defeated by Fiji 19-15 in the quarter-finals of the Olympics.
Following their defeat to New Zealand in the group stages on Thursday afternoon, Ireland faced a tough task when they faced holders Fiji, who have dominated the Olympics since the introduction in 2016.

Ireland looked on to cause one of the shocks of the Olympics, as they were leading Fiji 15-7.
However, two quick fire tries by Fiji with three minutes remaining, as Waisea Nacuqu scored the winning try to ensure they would be in contention to defend their title.
They will face the winners of USA and Australia in the semi-finals.
After coming so close to victory against the defending champions, this defeat will hurt Ireland.
