Shamrock Rovers had a successful evening in the SSE Airtricity League Premier Division.

The Dubliners got a 2-0 away win over Drogheda, with Johnny Kenny and Graham Burke supplying the goals.

Meanwhile at Tolka Park, leaders Shelbourne suffered a setback against Sligo Rovers, as the visitors came away with a 2-1 win after Kailin Barlow and Fabrice Hartmann netted either side of the break, with Sean Boyd offering the only response for Shels.

Down in Waterford, Keith Long's side won 2-1 against Bohemians, as did St Patrick's Athletic who hosted Galway United.

The final fixture of the evening saw Dundalk and Derry City play out a nil-all draw at Oriel Park.
