Leinster have beaten Connacht 50-12 at the Sports Ground in the Rainbow Cup.
After a disappointing loss in the Champions Cup semi-final against La Rochelle, Leinster were able to bounce back in Galway this evening.
Despite the one-sided scoreline, the opening exchanges of the game were dominated by Connacht as they managed to go up 16-0 after 13 minutes.
The away side eventually got on the scoreboard two minutes later when Hugo Keenan went over the line after some nice play from Ciaran Frawley to set him through.
From there the game flipped on its head as Leinster wound up scoring 45 unanswered points in what was an incredibly helter-skelter game.
Leinster went into the break 33-16 up, but had to do without recent Lions call up Jack Conan who went off after 25 minutes. Ciaran Frawley was also forced off due to injury in the first half.
The away side picked up where they left off in the second half with a try from a lineout maul. Andrew Porter touched down to make it 40-16 after the conversion.
From then on the game was effectively over as after a late Connacht try, Man of the Match Hugo Keenan got his third try of the game to cap off a dramatic turnaround for the boys in blue.
