Italy are into the final after beating Spain 4-2 on penalties, with coolness personified in a final penalty taken by Jorginho.
The shootout started with substitute Manuel Locatelli’s penalty being saved by Simon, before Olmo wasted his chance to give Spain an early lead by firing well off target. Andrea Belotti, Gerard Moreno, Leonardo Bonucci, Thiago Alcantara and Federico Bernardeschi scored their spot-kicks before Donnarumma got down to his left to deny Morata.
Jorginho stepped up and coolly rolled home the winning spot-kick, with the 4-2 shootout win sending Italy through to Sunday’s final against England or Denmark.
Full-time of extra time: It's penalties.
In the second-half, Italian fans celebrated wildly as Berardi directed home, only for the offside flag to bring them crashing back down to earth. Spain were looking the most likely to find a winner, but it ended 1-1 after 120 minutes and the semi-final went to penalties.
ET first-half: The first half of extra-time ended goalless, with Spain having edged it and came closest in the 108th minute. Olmo shaped to cross from a free-kick that he instead sent fizzing at goal. Donnarumma could only push the ball into the path of Morata, whose effort was blocked before the ball ricocheted just wide.
Marcos Llorente also saw a shot blocked before referee Felix Brych signalled for the interval. Italy take on Spain at Wembley in the first Euro 2020 semi-final this evening and you can follow the action live right here.
