Derry came out on top in a dramatic penalty shoot-out after they finished all level after extra-time.

The Ulster side won 4-3 on penalties to send the Connacht side out of the championship.

They could not be separated after a 1-8 to 11 point draw after 70 minutes.

Galway were the first team into the next round after a 14 point to 11 win over Monaghan.

It could be a final game in the blue and white for Monaghan great Conor McManus.

Roscommon survived a second half fightback from Tyrone to win 14 points to 12 in Omagh.

Clare and Cork booked their spots in the semi-finals of the All Ireland Hurling Championships.

The Banner had 12 points to spare over 14-man Wexford in Thurles this afternoon, while Cork held on to get the better of Dublin by five points at Semple Stadium.

Swimming

Danielle Hill has picked up another medal at the European Aquatics Championships in Belgrade.

The Larne native won silver in the final of the 100m backstroke to add to the gold she won in the 50m event, while Lottie Cullen finished fifth.

Meanwhile, Shane Ryan won his semi-final of the 50m freestyle to move into tomorrow's final, while Callum Bain is unlikely to make the final despite a fourth-placed finish in the semis.

Conor Ferguson is into the final of the 100m backstroke after a time of 54.12 in his semi-final, and Ellie McCartney finished eighth in the final of the 200m medley.

Soccer

Portugal are heading for the knockout stages of Euro 2024.

The 2016 champions beat Turkey 3-0 in their Group F game in Dortmund.

That win gives Portugal 6 points and top spot in the group as things stand.

Already in that group, Georgia and Czechia played out a 1-1 draw.

Belgium are looking for their first points of the campaign.

They lead Romania 2-0 nearing full-time in their Group E encounter, thanks to goals by Youri Tielemans and Kevin De Bruyne.

Golf

Leona Maguire is four shots off the lead during the third round of the Women's PGA Championship underway.

The Cavan native lies on two-under-par as she's one over through three holes in Washington State.

Sarah Schmelzel and Amy Yang share the lead on six-under.

Play has been suspended during the third round of the Travelers Championship due to inclement weather this evening.

Shane Lowry was two under through nine holes before play was stopped in Connecticut.

He's now 11 under for the week and three shots off the lead, which is being shared by the American Akshay Bhatia and Tom Kim.

Meanwhile, Seamus Power shot a three-under round of 67 to move up to six under par all round.

Rugby

Glasgow have won their first United Rugby Championship title with a 21-16 victory over South African side the Bulls.

Tries from Scott Cummings, George Turner and Huw Jones helped them to the trophy in Pretoria.

It's the first time they've beaten a team in South Africa since 2018.
