Rugby

Munster have been beaten by Dragons 23-17 in the United Rugby Championship.

Stephen Archer and Ben Healy crossed the whitewash for Munster in the first half, putting them ahead at the break, but a try from Rio Dyer put the homeside back ahead 10 minute from the final whistle.

Golf

A battling performance from Leona Maguire has come up just short at the final round of the KPMG Women's Irish Open.

A strong back nine put the Cavan woman back in contention before just running out of holes at Dromoland Castle.

She finished with a four under round of 68 to end on 13-under-par, just one shot off the lead.

The Solheim Cup star started the weekend ten back and had been looking to become the first home golfer to win the event.

Klara Spilkova of the Czech Republic was crowned the champion following a three player play-off.

Rowing

Ireland have picked up their fourth medal at the World Rowing Championships in the Czech Republic.

Sanita Puspure and Zoe Hyde held off Austria to take bronze in the women's double sculls final.

Romania took home gold with the Netherlands picking up the silver medal.

It means Ireland end the championships with 2 golds and 2 bronze medals and 7th on the medal table as things stand.

Gymnastics

Ireland have won two gold medals at the FIG World Challenge Cup event in Paris.

Olympian Rhys McClenaghan came first with a score of 15 point 150 on the pommel horse edging out his Kazakh opponent into second.

Elsewhere, Belfast man Eamon Montgomery opened the day with gold in the floor event with a score of 14 point 250.

The Challenge Cup is a series of events held around the world with this competition serving as a warm-up event for the World Championships in Liverpool next month.

Soccer

In the Nations League, Croatia have beaten Austria 3-1, while Denmark got a 2-0 win over France.

Elsehwere, Poland beat Wales and the Netherlands beat Belgium, both on a scoreline of 1-0.

Defending Women's Super League champions Chelsea have got their first win of the new season, beating Manchester City 2-0.

Fran Kirby was first to put her side on the scoresheet in the 42nd minute before Maren Mjelde snatched a second from the penalty spot in the 78th.

Elsewhere, Aston Villa took a 2-0 win over Leicester City, while Manchester United also got a 2-0 victory against West Ham.

Earlier, Brighton took a 2-1 victory over Reading, while in the last game of the day, Everton beat Liverpool 3-0 up in the Merseyside derby.
