The cost of a basic national stamp is to increase by 10c to €1.35 from February 1st.
An Post said the 8 per cent increase is in line with 2022 inflation and is necessary due to the increased costs faced across its operations, including transport, fuel and energy.
An Post said some other services, such as redirection and registered post, will also increase under the measures. However, there will be no increase for the worldwide letter stamp or the new digital stamp, which will remain at €2.20 and €2 respectively.
"Conscious of the impact on personal customers who are regular mailers", An Post confirmed the price of a 10-stamp booklet will be €13 - working out at €1.30 per stamp - and a 100-stamp roll will add up to €1.25 per stamp.
Small and Medium Enterprises, through An Post's Advantage Card, will also be able to pay €1.20 for national stamps, representing an 11 per cent discount.
"The new postal tariffs will help ensure the continuity of national letter services based on customers paying the same price for delivery of letters nationwide regardless of distance, as well as ongoing investment in letter services, staff and digital innovation," An Post said.
All existing stamps with N (National) and W (Worldwide) or specific Euro denominations remain valid and fully useable, An Post added.
