Meta Platforms Inc has restored former US president Donald Trump's Facebook page following a two-year suspension after the deadly Capitol Hill riot on January 6th, 2021.
Meta announced last month that it would reinstate Mr Trump's Facebook and Instagram accounts. His Instagram page was not immediately accessible on Thursday.
The company recently said it is adding “new guardrails” to ensure there are no “repeat offenders” who violate its rules.
“In the event that Mr Trump posts further violating content, the content will be removed and he will be suspended for between one month and two years, depending on the severity of the violation,” Meta, which is based in Menlo Park, California, said.
Mr Trump was also banned from Twitter following the US Capitol riot.
However, the platform, now owned by Elon Musk, recently reinstated Mr Trump.
He has yet to tweet.
Banned from mainstream social media, Mr Trump has been relying on his own much smaller site, Truth Social, which he launched after being blocked from Twitter.
