Russia's ambassador to the United States said on Friday that the risk of a clash between the US and Russia was "high", Russian state-owned news agency TASS reported.
TASS cited Anatoly Antonov as saying that it was hard to say when talks on strategic dialogue between the two sides could resume, but that talks on prisoner swaps had been "effective" and would continue.
Antonoy's comments come after the US pledged further support for Ukraine following the Russian invasion.
Ahead of Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelenskiy's visit to Washington this week, the US announced a new $1.8 billion (€1.7 billion) military aid package, including for the first time Patriot surface-to-air missiles. And Congress planned to vote this week on a fresh spending package that includes about $45 billion in additional emergency assistance to Ukraine.
