A teacher in the UK has been banned from teaching indefinitely for coming into school drunk more than once as well as making inappropriate comments to students.

The Teaching Regulation Agency (TRA) found that Mr Jeremy Tucker (64) was guilty of "unprofessional behaviour" while teaching at the Acorn School in Lincoln.

Mr Tucker left his post at the school after several members of staff had submitted complaints about his behaviour.

A TRA panel prohibited him from teaching indefinitely at any school, college, relevant youth accommodation or children’s home in England.

The hearing found that more than once he attended the school whilst he was under the influence of alcohol or smelt of alcohol.

He was also engaged in making inappropriate comments towards or in the presence of pupils.

They said during an assembly on or around October 4th, 2018 Mr Tucker demonstrated what type of language would not be tolerated to staff by pupils by making the comment “hey Miss you’ve got big tits, I’d love to suck on them”.

The pupils were shocked by his comments, and it became very awkward in the room, a witness said.

He also told a female pupil “I’m going to knock your head off and shit down your throat." as well as telling another stupid she was a "stupid girl".

The hearing also found that he drove a car with more than one pupil after consuming alcohol.

Five witnesses spoke at the hearing, each of which said he smelted of alcohol with two of them saying they found empty bottles of vodka in his bag.

The witnesses also said Mr Tucker tried to disguise the smell with copious amounts of aftershave or eating raw bulbs of garlic.

They said that he would often belittle the students by saying they were stupid as well as mocking them.

Evidence of Mr Tucker being under the influence of alcohol was based upon his "erratic behaviour", the TRA said, adding that it "could have been for other reasons".

Issuing the indefinite prohibition order, they said Mr Tucker's conduct "fell significantly short of the standards expected of the profession"
