There is enough land available in Dublin to build 46,000 new homes, according to a government task force.

It says the development-ready space is suitable for residential use and could meet housing needs for the next six years.

Earlier this week the ESRI said Dublin would need to build 54,000 homes by 2021.

Up to June, only 11 planning applications had been granted across Dublin's four local authorities.
