This definitely brightened up our Monday.
Dublin Zoo is celebrating the arrival of a new Asian elephant. The healthy bull calf was born to mother Yasmin at 7.22am last Thursday after a 22-month pregnancy. The newest member of the Dublin herd is an estimated 1.2metres tall and weighs around 80kg - the same weight of an average adult human.
Look at his face. And his ears!
We want one.
The new arrival will join the rest of the herd - Bernhardine, Anak, Asha, mum Yasmin and dad Upali -in the Kaziranga Forest Trail at Dublin Zoo.
Dublin Zoo and the Natural Confectionary Company will be inviting the public over the coming weeks to help name the new baby bull elephant and entries should be inspired by his Indian origin.
You can find out more about the competition on the Natural Confectionary Company Facebook page and the winner will be invited to Dublin Zoo for the naming ceremony.
See if you can spot the youngster over on the live elephant cam on Dublin Zoo's website here.
