70,000 disappointed Garth fans gather in Dublin

Around 70,000 overseas visitors and Garth Brooks ticket holders have made the trip to Dublin despite the five concerts cancelled for this weekend.

In Dalymount Park, just a short distance from Croke Park, two thousand fans will attend a 'Friends in Low Places' charity concert tonight.

The Ultimate Garth Brooks Experience tribute act will take to the stage as well as the Dubin Gospel Choir for Temple Street children's hospital.

Ticketmaster said it had so far refunded more than 330,000 disappointed fans.

A total of about 82.5% or 330,000 tickets were sold in Ireland while 12.5% (about 50,000) were sold in the UK.

About 12,000 tickets were sold in Australia, Germany, the US and Canada, while 8,000 (or 2%) were sold in all other countries.
