An anti-austerity protest is continuing on Dublin's O'Connell Bridge, blocking traffic on the quays.

About 300 protestors are involved there while several hundred people are staging a protest outside Leinster House.

A variety of groups, who say they are against austerity, are taking part in the day-long protest as the Dáil reconvenes after its summer break.

There's a heavy garda presence in the area with access to the Kildare Street entrance of Leinster House restricted, and Molesworth Street closed to traffic.
