Firefighters in North Dublin are to vote on whether to go on strike following a decision by the management of Dublin Fire Brigade to remove the Swords Ambulance Service.

Firefighters in North Dublin are to vote on whether to go on strike following a decision by the management of Dublin Fire Brigade to remove the Swords Ambulance Service.

Members of the Fire Brigade attached to SIPTU will be ballotted immediately with a view to taking strike action in January.

A union spokesperson said the withdrawal of the Swords ambulance will have major consequences for the people of Swords and North County Dublin.
