Two Irish universities are teaming up with an American college to develop a new translational research institute.

Details of the joint venture between NUI Galway, the University of Limerick and Georgia Institute of Technology in the US will be announced later today.

The Taoiseach Brian Cowen will be on hand to help launch the project, called Georgia Tech Ireland, in Dublin at midday.
