A search is resuming this morning for a fisherman, missing off the Co Clare coast.

The alarm was raised on Saturday when he was swept into the sea from rocks near Doonbeg.

The Irish Coast Guard's Gerard O'Flynn has said the Lough Derg Diving Unit, is among a number of local sub-aqua clubs who joined the search at the weekend.

"We continue with a search throughout the day with local volunteer coast guard teams based in Kilkee and Doolan," he said.

"They will be supported by a number of diving teams including the garda diving team."
