An investigation is underway today after an explosion at a house in Co Meath.

Gardaí investigate blast at Navan house

An investigation is underway today after an explosion at a house in Co Meath.

Witnesses say they heard an explosion at the house in Beechgrove in Navan shortly before 8am this morning.

Emergency services rushed to the scene and a man in his 40s was taken from the house.

He was rushed to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda for treatment.

His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

The house has been sealed off ahead of a technical examination later and gardaí are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
