Fianna Fail to sell party HQ
Fianna Fail is set to finally clear the party's debt by selling their prestigious headquarters in Dublin. The property will be put on the market next month and is expected to go for almost £2m.
The building on the city's Mount St, has been the Fianna Fail headquarters for the last 70 years. Its sale should, not only wipe out the party's £1m debt, but net them a substantial windfall in what may be an election year.
Fianna Fail is rejecting the idea that the sale has anything to do with an imminent election and say it has been on the cards for a number of years and coincides with the signing of a lease on new premises around the corner from the old building. They also say the building, known as Aras de Valera, is too old-fashioned and no longer suitable for the workings of a modern political party.
