Two Baltimore policemen have been shot dead while trying to persuade a man to turn down his stereo.

Two Baltimore policemen have been shot dead while trying to persuade a man to turn down his stereo.

The two had been called to a mobile home park in Centreville, near the Maryland city, after complaints from neighbours of a 41-year-old man.

Officer Michael Nickerson, 26, died after being hit in the chest by a shotgun blast. Sheriff's Deputy Jason Schwenz, 28, also died at the scene.

A suspect is in custody.
