The number of people seeking help for cocaine use has reportedly increased ten-fold in recent years.

Reports this morning say a leaked study by the Health Research Board shows that 482 people were treated in 2005, compared to 48 in 1999.

Around a quarter of those seeking help say they used the drug daily, while two-fifths say they use it between two to six days a week.

The figures follow a warning last week from the Dublin county coroner after he dealt with the cocaine-linked deaths of five people.
