Derry City will be without Gareth McGlynn when they take on Drogheda United tonight at the Brandywell after the right winger picked up a two-match ban from the eircom League’s disciplinary commission.
McGlynn was sent off during Derry’s FAI Cup semi-final defeat to Waterford United on October 1 and automatically incurred a one-game suspension for his next FAI Cup match but he was also handed a ban for one competitive match effective from yesterday.
Team-mate Clive Delaney is to miss the home game against Dublin City later this month after reaching 12 penalty points.
His suspension comes into effect on October 27, meaning he will sit out the Viking’s visit that weekend and the trip to Cork City on November 5.
Longford Town’s Dean Fitzgerald, meanwhile, was suspended for one match after reaching four penalty points and is unavailable for the midlanders’ first game following the FAI Cup final, scheduled to be the premier division fixture at St Patrick’s Athletic on October 29.
