McCarthy commits to long-term Wigan deal

The Republic of Ireland's James McCarthy has signed a new long-term contract at Wigan, the Barclays Premier League club have confirmed.

The club also said that Ben Watson and Emmerson Boyce have also signed long-term deals with them.

Former Hamilton star McCarthy has committed his future to the north-west outfit for the next five seasons, with fellow midfielder Ben Watson penning a three-year deal.

Defender Boyce, who is closing on the club’s record tally of Premier League appearances, has signed for two years.
