Police in Belfast are investigating the sudden death of an eight-year-old boy.

The child was found dead at the junction of Sunningdale Gardens and Sunninghill Drive in the north of the city at 8.30pm yesterday.

Police are appealing for anyone who saw the ginger-haired boy, who was dressed in combat trousers, matching top and navy and white Nike trainers, in the area at the time.

A post mortem will be carried out this morning, an RUC spokesman said.
