A golf club believed to be used in an assault that claimed the life of a young man in Dublin is being tested as part of the investigation into his death.

A golf club believed to be used in an assault that claimed the life of a young man in Dublin is being tested as part of the investigation into his death.

The 21-year-old died in hospital after being found unconscious outside a shop at Fassaugh Avenue near the Cabra House Pub at 7am this morning.

Gardaí have yet to officially launch a murder investigation but they are expected to do so once the results of a post mortem are made available.

A 23-year-old man was arrested at the scene a few hours after the man died and a 25-year-old man was arrested in Finglas at midday.
