The 13 year old boy who drowned in a swimming accident in Blanchardstown in Dublin yesterday evening has been named locally as Ricky Osagi.

The 13 year old boy who drowned in a swimming accident in Blanchardstown in Dublin yesterday evening has been named locally as Ricky Osagi.

The teenager was swimming with two girls at a lake near the Waterville Hall residential complex at around a 6.15pm when all three got into difficulty.

They were rushed to Temple Street Children's Hospital where the boy spent the night in the intensive care unit.

He lost his fight for life this morning.

The two girls are said to be in a stable condition.
