Bank manager’s family held hostage in Dublin raid

An armed gang has escaped with a substantial sum of money after holding a bank manager and her family hostage in Co Louth this morning.

An armed gang has escaped with a substantial sum of money after holding a bank manager and her family hostage in Co Louth this morning.

The ordeal began when the raiders entered the woman's home in the south of the county at around 8pm last night.

They held her family overnight before forcing her to go to work in the Coolock area of Dublin as normal this morning and hand over an undisclosed sum of cash.

Gardaí were alerted to the situation at around 10.30am and are currently interviewing the woman's family, who were unharmed during the robbery.
