A point was enough for Derry to avoid any danger of the play-offs in a see-saw battle with champions Bohs at Dalymount.

Simon Webb fired Bohs in front from a 33rd minute penalty after Derry skipper Eamonn Doherty had handled.

A bizarre Sean Friars goal, when his long range effort deceived Ashley Bayes, brought the sides level on 57 minutes before Gary Beckett put Derry in font three minutes later.

But Jason McGuinness scored his first goal for Bohs to equalise on 68 minutes. With Drogheda also only managing a draw, Derry were safe.
