NCT to include insurance and tax checks
The NCT car test could soon be expanded to cover a check for insurance and tax.
Proposals to expand the inspection are being considered by government officials and those responsible for the test.
At the moment the NCT only checks the mechanical roadworthiness of a car.
But Fianna Fáil TD, Sean Fleming, said it makes more sense to check for tax and insurance at the same time.
