Cork City entertain St Patrick’s Athletic at Turner’s Cross tonight in a fixture that has been rescheduled to accommodate Saints' participation in the Europa League, kick-off 7.45pm.

For the home side, Robert Mezeckis and Billy Dennehy are both still sidelined with Achilles and hamstring injuries, but Shane Duggan will be available following suspension.

Denis Behan picked up a knock to his ankle against Galway but it is hoped that he will recover to feature against St Pat’s.

City boss Paul Doolin said: “We want to win the league, and we won’t stop in our pursuit of the league title, but the main thing for us at the moment is to keep clean sheets and try to build another run like we had earlier in the season.

“I don’t think any other team has put a run like that together, so there is obviously talent and ability in this side, but the key to success is consistency and that is what we need to achieve.”

Mark Quigley (jaw), Mark Leech (leg), Gary Dempsey (leg) and Damien Lynch (ankle) are all out for Jeff Kenna’s St Pat’s.

Jamie Harris is struggling with a neck injury but may be passed fit to play.

John Lester is suspended, while Dave Partridge returns from suspension and Darragh Ryan returns from injury to join the squad.

Kenna said: “The result on Saturday night (versus Shamrock Rovers) was disappointing as we had matched Rovers in most departments over the 90 minutes.

“It shows the value of having an in-form striker like Gary Twigg. He had been kept pretty quite but two chances fell to him and he took them both.

“It’s disappointing as I say, but we need to put it behind us and put in a good performance down in Cork.”
