Ahern to meet President Lagos of Chile

The Taoiseach, Bertie Ahern, is due to meet Chilean President Ricardo Lagos in Dublin later today.

The Taoiseach, Bertie Ahern, is due to meet Chilean President Ricardo Lagos in Dublin later today.

The two are to visit a monument in Merrion Square dedicated to Bernardo O'Higgins, a Chilean independence hero whose father was from Co Sligo.

President Lagos arrived in Dublin yesterday for a two-day visit.
