Leeds United bosses say European success will help them match the might of Manchester United.
The club, owned by Leeds Sporting, reported a massive increase in turnover from £24.6 million to £41 million, a rise fuelled by gate receipts and television income.
A position in the quarter finals of the Champions League helped the club record a profit - excluding the cost of players - of £6.2 million.
Peter Ridsdale, chairman of Leeds United, told Ananova the club's success lay with its players.
He added: "The key issue is whether we're successful on the field - that's what drives the numbers up. We have a great squad with a great future ahead of them.
"Manchester United remain the benchmark, and we would like to be able to match their presence at a sustained level by focusing on our key brand values.
"Given our pace of growth, in a few years we will have Manchester United in our sights."
Plans for Leeds United's global presence include outlets in Australia, Hong Kong and Scandinavia.
The group also plans to work closely on media projects with BSkyB and to continue development of its website.
