Workers at the Ardagh packaging plant in Dublin have said they are confident the plant can be saved.

Unions met officials from the Labour Relations Commission today and indicated a willingness to enter into joint discussions with management on a survival plan.

375 staff are employed at the Ringsend plant, although it is unlikely that all jobs can be saved.

Unions are seeking voluntary redundancy packages for staff who are being laid off.
