Central Bank to show designs for euro banknotes

An exhibition of all the entries submitted to a Europe-wide competition for the design of the first series of euro banknotes will be unveiled in Dublin tomorrow by the Central Bank.

An exhibition of all the entries submitted to a Europe-wide competition for the design of the first series of euro banknotes will be unveiled in Dublin tomorrow by the Central Bank.

All 44 designs, which were submitted in 1996, will be on display at the National College of Ireland in the IFSC from October 12 to 22.

Designs were sought for all seven notes and were subject to strict guidelines.

Two entries from Irish artist Robert Ballagh will be included in the exhibition.
