The Minister for Foreign Affairs Brian Cowen is cutting short his trip to the Middle East because of the atrocities in the US.

Brian Cowen will attend an emergency meeting of EU Foreign Ministers in Brussels tomorrow before returning to Dublin.

He was meeting with Palestinian President Yasser Arafat when the news of the terrorist attacks broke.

Speaking from Jerusalem, Minister Cowen expressed his shock at today’s events.
