Ibrahima Iyane-Thiam salvaged a point for Drogheda with his second league goal of the season.

With Rovers hanging on for a second win at United Park, having won there in the opening game of the season, Senegalese striker Iyane-Thiam popped up to head past Hoops debutant keeper Robert Duggan with just two minutes to play

Drogheda's positive start counted for little as they fell behind to a well-worked goal on 28 minutes.

Sean O'Connor attacked up the right, worked a one-two with Ger O'Brien, before beating Mikko Vilmunen with a fiercely struck low drive.
