Man questioned following Dublin drugs find

Detectives are today questioning a man in connection with a cocaine find in west Dublin.

Detectives are today questioning a man in connection with a cocaine find in west Dublin.

Gardaí arrested the 25-year-old in Ballyfermot in the early hours of this morning after recovering the drugs with an estimated street value of €20,000.

According to the gardaí , the man – from the area – ran off when he was approached by uniformed officers patrolling First Avenue at around 3.40am.

The two gardaí gave chase and the suspect threw a bag containing the drugs to the ground.

He was arrested a short distance away and was taken to Ballyfermot Garda Station.

He is being detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996, according to Sergeant Ronan Farrelly.
