Ben Foster replaced Edwin van der Sar in goal for Manchester United for their Champions League clash with Celtic at Parkhead.
First-choice United goalkeeper Van der Sar was left at home in readiness for the weekend clash with Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium so boss Alex Ferguson gave Foster, 25, only his second start since signing from Stoke over three years ago.
In the absence of injured full-backs Wes Brown and Gary Neville, 18-year-old Brazilian Rafael was handed the right-back berth with John O’Shea coming in for Patrice Evra on the other side.
Ferguson felt he could afford to leave Wayne Rooney and Dimitar Berbatov on the bench with Carlos Tevez partnering Ryan Giggs in attack.
Celtic midfielder Barry Robson shrugged off a toe infection as manager Gordon Strachan kept the same side which beat Hearts 2-0 at Tynecastle on Sunday.
Cillian Sheridan, the 19-year-old Irishman, made his first start in the Champions League in attack alongside Scott McDonald.
