The Green party leader John Gormley has said Fine Gael and Labour are "home and dry" to be the two largest parties after the election tomorrow.

He is appealing for voters to put Green candidates ahead of the others to keep what he says would be a strong Opposition in the next Dáil.

John Gormley also dismissed the details of internal Fine Gael opinion polls which suggest that both Eamon Ryan and Trevor Sargent will keep their seats while the other Greens will lose out.

Speaking at the St Stephen's Green Luas stop in Dublin this morning Mr Gormley said there are no safe Green party seats.
