The Unite trade union said today that Aviva is refusing to confirm or deny reports it is planning to shed up to 1,000 jobs.

Management at the insurance company would also not confirm today when the ongoing review of its Irish operations will be completed.

We’ve received no information from them whatsoever

"Nothing that would either confirm or deny 800-1,000 job losses," said Brian Gallagher from Unite.

Aviva employs around 2,000 people in Dublin, Cork and Galway.
