A man has been arrested in Dublin after two men were discovered with stab wounds at a house in Terenure. One victim is critically ill.

A man has been arrested in Dublin after two men were discovered with stab wounds at a house in Terenure. One victim is critically ill.

Gardaí found one man collapsed on the porch of the house at Greenmount Lawns when they arrived at the scene at about 5.20am.

He had been stabbed in the stomach and chest.

Another man was found inside the house with less serious injuries. He had also been stabbed.

Both men were taken to James's Hospital by ambulance crews and the 26-year-old man who was found inside the house has since been released from hospital.

The other man, who is thought to be middle-aged, remains in hospital in a critical condition.

A 36-year-old man was arrested at the scene and is being detained under section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act at Terenure garda station.

He can be detained for a maximum period of 24 hours.
