Dozens of senior republicans are expected to be among the mourners when veteran IRA figure Martin Meehan is buried in Belfast today.
Mr Meehan died of a heart attack at his home on Saturday.
The 62-year-old was a major IRA figure for many years and spend more than 20 years in prison before becoming a strong supporter of the peace process.
In recent years, he began outreach work with loyalists after learning that his grandfather died in Belgium while fighting with the British army during the First World War.
Mr Meehan is due to be buried today after funeral mass in his native Ardoyne.
