Flyer trimmed for Champion repeat

Moscow Flyer has been all the rage in the Queen Mother Champion Chase betting after Jessica Harrington’s stable returned to form at Leopardstown on Sunday.

Moscow Flyer has been all the rage in the Queen Mother Champion Chase betting after Jessica Harrington’s stable returned to form at Leopardstown on Sunday.

The 12-year-old dual winner of the race has been friendless in the ante-post market in recent weeks after tasting defeat on his two starts this term.

But with Harrington’s yard enjoying its first win for 78 days when Studmaster captured the Pierse Hurdle, Moscow Flyer has attracted the cash and is now 3-1 from 5s with totesport.

“If the poor stable form rather than Moscow Flyer being on the downgrade is to blame for his poor runs this season, then Moscow Flyer would be a huge threat to favourite Kauto Star,” said spokesman Damian Walker.

“We saw money for Moscow Flyer last night and again this morning so we cut him to 4-1 from 5s, but the gamble continued and we are now just 3-1.”

Coral have also trimmed his odds in from 5-1 and the veteran chaser is now a 7-2 chance.
