Hunt out for Trotters

Bolton full-back Nicky Hunt faces a spell on the sidelines after suffering a dislocated shoulder during the Barclays Premier League draw against West Ham.

The 24-year-old was taken off with nine minutes remaining at Upton Park yesterday, and the medical staff will assess the injury further before announcing a timeframe for a possible comeback.

Abdoulaye Meite took a knock to the knee during the 1-1 draw, but his injury is not thought to be serious.

Kevin Nolan’s equaliser deep in stoppage-time earned Bolton a point in their relegation fight, and the midfielder feels there is confidence in the team following the appointment of Gary Megson as Sammy Lee’s successor.

“Gary Megson has been a real breath of fresh air,” Nolan told his club’s official website, bwfc.co.uk.

“He came in, and we’ve started to play better. He’s told us what he wants; that’s given us a starting point – and that’s helped.

“The players were low on confidence, but he’s come in and given us a boost.

“It was great for the lads; it showed the desire and commitment, and we kept going until the end.

“To pull it out of the bag like that was fantastic – and we deserved it.”
