Gardaí in Galway have arrested a man following an overnight stabbing that left a 17-year-old youth in a critical condition.

Gardaí in Galway have arrested a man following an overnight stabbing that left a 17-year-old youth in a critical condition.

The man was arrested in the vicinity of the stabbing, which happened in the Claddagh area of the city.

The victim, who is recovering in Galway's University College Hospital, received a serious head wound during the attack.
