A woman is being held by African police in connection with the murder of an Irish-born business man.

A woman is being held by African police in connection with the murder of an Irish-born business man.

The victim, 76-year-old William West, who lived in East Sussex in England, was beaten and burned to death in a fishing village in Gambia earlier this month.

His 26-year-old second wife Kate West has confessed to knocking him unconscious at their luxury beachside home, before setting him alight.

She had earlier claimed that five men were behind the killing.
